  2. We booked a 2D1N trekking package to Mt. Rinjani & Tetebatu Trip with Jonny, and it has been a wonderful experience. Jonny very insightfully and on hes briefing totally honest ,we are both trekkers with regular training, and the hardest part for this mountain is beyond pure physical fitness. A significant amount of the footpath is composed of loose gravel, with sand underneath, and it’s steep. The problem with this type of scree is that one simply can’t stand still, and you slide one step back in every two to three steps. Jonny also very kindly help us with all the arrangement, to the extent, for example, the complimentary laundry service, provide head lamps, trekking stick,We couldn’t thank him and his team. I therefore highly recommended the service of Jonny Tour Guide, and for those who is looking for climbing Rinjani in the future, I would say, listen to Jonny, you certainly won’t get wrong.

  3. We contacted Jonny beginning of the month of July for some information.
He kindly answered all of our questions and organized our stay in Tetebatu.
We got picked up in Kuta Lombok by a driver and went straight to Tetebatu. We met Jonny and he explained us the process and adviced us on the stuff we had to bring.
Afterwards they dropped us off at a nice homestay in the village (very comfortable and friendly staff).

Jonny arrived with our guide at 5h30 am in his Lamborghini and drove us to the start point of the trekking after we picked up a third personne for the trek.

    Everything was really well organized.
We started to climb to Crater Rim, had enough water, biscuits. Our is really caring and paying attention to everyone's wellbeing. He's might seem shy but after a bit he'll turn out very funny !

Our lunch, dinner and breakfast were amazing. It was better than some food we had in a warung on Lombok / Bali !

Very impressive to see how the porters carry everything to the top.

The trek is physically challenging but certainly not impossible ! Take your time, there is no rush.

The view from up there is absolutely amazing.

Little sad we couldn't do the 3 days 2 nights, but we'll come back !

Thanks Jonny, and all staff !

  5. The Rinjani trekking was recommended by friends; and it definately made our stay in Lombok amazing. Besides the beautiful hike, the unique experience of sleeping on a vulcano, and the view when we reached the top, Jonny’s travel guide contributed a lot in making this experience a once in a lifetime one.

Arriving at Bangsal harbour, two of Jonny’s tour drivers were there to pick us up to bring us to Tetebatu where we would spend the night before starting the hike. On our way to Tetebatu, the driver (Kiky) explained everything regarding the tour and learned us a lot about Lombok’s traditions. They treated us with mineral water and typical Lombok goreng (fried vegetables), which came at the right moment since we had travelled the whole day.

The accomondation were we slept was nice as well, where we tried an Urap urap (local dish) that was delicious! After dinner we prepared for the hike. We noticed that we definatley did not had the right gear with us (no sweaters, jackets, bagpack) since it can be cold on the top. But very last moment Kiky fixed all of this for us. What a service!

The hike itself was heavy, but doable for everyone who likes hiking. It took us 8 hours to reach the base camp (where we were alone since we booked the private tour, this made it extra special), and between hiking the guides provided us with delicious noodlesoup and snacks. At the basecamp we enjoyed the sunset, stars, nasi goreng, bonfire, and the nice company of the guides. The next day we started hiking around 4.30 to see the sunrise on top, which was absolutely stunning! All the hard work definately payed off!

All in all, we would recommend the Rinjani trekking, and above all we would highly recommend to book the tour via Jonny!

  6. 100% recommended

One of the most beautiful highlights of our holiday!
We made the 2-day tour to the crater of Mount rinjani. The tour was well organized, we felt well accompanied and cared for. The price is also fair.
You need some endurance, but you don't have to be very trained to make the tour. And the beautiful sunrise is definitely worth it!

  7. Couldn’t recommend Jonny’s Tour enough!! The south route only opened a year ago so you won’t find many other tourists there, the route is still very clean and authentic! Jonny and the entire team made us feel so welcome and made sure we had everything we needed. I had the best experience with them, way better than expected. Thank you so much!

  8. We did the Rinjani 2d1n trek and we had a great time, definitely one of the highlights of our holiday in Indonesia, if not the highlight!

First off, everything was arranged really well, with pick up from Bangsal to drop off in Kuta. We didn’t have to worry about anything. During the trek, we could take breaks as we wished and the food served during the trek was delicious. It’s crazy what these guys can cook on a portable stove.

We really liked the fact that this trek is not as crowded as others in Indonesia, like Mt. Ijen. We did the hike during the weekend and only met two other groups. The view of the crater at sunrise is a great reward after a long climb.

In terms of difficulty it was tough but definitely doable if you’re a somewhat sporty person. The second day was a bit more tough as the descend feels like an endless journey through the jungle. This makes your trip feel all the more rewarding!

We can definitely recommend Jonny’s Tour, as we had a blast!
